Here is an email report from Trevor Watson's missions trip to Uganda,
Hi friends!
It's Sunday AM here in Entebbe & I have a chance to sit down & write to you.
It's been a very intense experience here in Uganda. We are a group of 10 people from Adam & Sonya's church that pitched in to help the locals in various ways-- 1st we went way west of Kampala (capital city) to work doing medicine & build water filtration systems for a UN refugee camp of 5000 people of all ages. Then we helped build a house for a little woman of the slums who has 7 kids. (We scrubbed the planned trip to S Sudan--- too much shooting!
One day we went on an incredible climb with 4WD vehicles to assess health needs in a certain mountain village. Then one day we went North, crossed the White Nile & went on a safari for a few hrs. Saw a 12' python. Yesterday Adam & I and 2 young fellows we have been working with went fishing on Lake Victoria-- a lifelong dream of mine. Huge fish (400 lb Nile Perch),1000 species of birds.
Uganda is interesting enough - friendly people -- chaotic & corrupt officialdom--- literally thousand of NGOs here.
Today we're resting. We've been short of sleep & living in crowded conditions. The hotel we're at has the suspicious name "Two Friends" is marvelous, clean, comfortable & with amazing food.
Adam& I travel well together & he's been a great help with my gimpy leg.
That's essentially it. We'll fly out tomorrow: Kigali, Rwanda; Brussels, then London for 1 night; home Tues.
Hope you guys are doing well.
We're doing great... thanks for praying, lads!
Blessing from here!
Trevor
